Botulinum Toxine
Botulinum toxine is best known for its wrinkle reducing effects. Its action is based on temporary muscle relaxation. This allows the clinician to play with the balance of traction between two muscle groups in order to avoid the frozen or expressive less look we all dread.
Most commonly botulinum toxine is used for forehead, glabellar and crow’s feet wrinkles. Although other indications include corner of the mouth depression, wrinkling of the chin, lip flip for a subtle lip-enhancement and subtle brow lift. It can also be used in cases of asymmetric muscle contraction either congenital or acquired to restore balance in the face.
